We were approached by architects practice to supply joinery for their barn conversation project in Oxon. Architects specified OILED OAK FLUSH FRAMES. Oiled oak weathers with time and changes colour to silver/ grey. Project involved big glazed screens to fill two large openings, main entrance doors, French doors, imitation of the door and windows. Due to the size both glazing screens had to be delivered in two parts. Lower part of front screen contained main entrance door. Lower part of back screen contained French door. After installation of upper part, the joint was covered with timber weather drip. The area behind one of the original doors was designed as a bathroom but the door had to stay in its original position. To solve this problem the architect specified an imitation of the door. All windows and doors were delivered readily glazed. Windows were fitted by team appointed by developers.
